40 series jumps from H4 to H2

Post by ARCSTAR »

While I was out playing in the mud yesterday my rig started to jump from H4 to H2. does this mean the gears in the transfer case are knackered I know the front bearings are fairly stuffed and a rebuild is in the line but the basic kits don't have new gears any thoughts would be appreciated as I'm also looking a a marks adapters overdriven kit maybe this would be the way to go :?:

What model is the 40?

Could be interference with the floor pan and the shift lever.

Could be worn dog clutch teeth.

The parts that control 2/4wd are separate from the gears.

I wouldnt use the Marks parts, havent heard anything good about the gears.. If you want OD, fit larger tyres.
