Tough Tracks Outlaw Comp Sunday 28th Nov

Post by Rolly »

As you may, or may not be aware, Tough Tracks 4x4 Club have made the decision to expand their competition to cater for outlaw and buggy type vehicles. It is going to be a conjoined class, aimed at giving the teams fun, challenging tracks to test their skills, and let spectators see a wide variety of highly capable vehicles competing against one another.

On the 28th November, which is the Sunday of the King of the Rim, we will have two tracks prepared for an introduction to this competition.

Whether you have a truggy, buggy or highly capable full bodied rig, this event is aimed at you. There are no limits to modifications, so long as the engineering is of a high, safe standard. This will be a self recovery event, so you will have to have a working winch. (If your vehicle does not have a winch fitted, eg. some single seaters, you must have a vehicle there that will recover you). All safety requirements for vehicles are posted on the Tough Tracks 4X4 website.

This class will be running under a modified scoring system, as we have many vehicles with rear steer, and dig capability. We would like to set it up to even the field out as much as possible, so everyone is in with a chance.

We will be heading out there before the comp to set up the tracks, so if you want some input into how the tracks will be designed, please come to the track building day. Date TBA.

Due to this first comp being an introduction to this type of event, we wont be making the tracks too difficult or damaging.

It would be great to see as many competitors and spectators there on the day, to show the support for this event.

We'd be more than happy to come and take photos if you want us!

We do have SSS Winch Challenge that same weekend but I don't think we'll be needed on the Sunday so we can haul butt down there from LCMP Sunday morning... a bit of a mission and massive weekend for us, but it will be worth it to see the new class unfold :)

See you there!

will be going out to scenic sunday 31st morning to have a look at marking out some tracks . if anyone is interested in having some input you are more than welcome to come along .
we wont be making the tracks to hard to start with so if any of the challenge class cars want to have a play your cars will be more than capable .
we will have optional bonus lines to keep the buggys and truggys thinking.
we will slowly increase the difficulty of thre tracks through out the year as peoples cars and driving skills get better .

cheers brett

If all entrants could please meet outside the office at 8.00am for a quick briefing, then we will get straight into the tracks.

It would be for sure. Alot of the guys from the Saturday were just too worn out for another day off it. Myself and others were there too show our support just didn't have the cars ready and there was a few at Toperi. Next year would be different I'd think.
