gas solenoid issue

i recently put the motor back into my 60 series extra cab ute,it used to run duel fuel but ive put an impco 425 carby on it and going to run straight gas,its a 302 cleveland by the way,any ways before i got the carby,when i turned ignition on the gas solenoid would clink,and now it isnt,could it be locked?im at a loss

also can anyone reccomend an auto electricion on the mornington peninsula that does mobile work,eg house calls

any help greatly appreciated

check that it has earth and you can use a wire to jump from batt+ to check if its working

The solenoids are easy to replace if they are the common recentish type. There is a screw in the middle of the top, take it out and the actuation part of the solenoid should slide off a shaft for easy replacement.

If you have a test light check for power, safety switches are known for failure, this is where the lock off gets its power. The solemoid does generally just come off. If you have a multimeter you can check the winding, it shoud be about 13 ohm from memory. If you are in Mornington I might be able to come look at it for you as we are in Mornington.
