Engin Mounts
hi can anyone help me some pics of some engin mounts they have made?
Re: Engin Mounts
What engine in what car bloke.
Re: Engin Mounts
commy motor to hilux
Re: Engin Mounts
If room allows, get original mounts for the motor and make adapters to the chassis.. or vice versa.. depends on room and which is the most difficult to make.. i have seen suspension (leaf spring) bushes used (not on a lux tho). It worked, but I don't know how it went in the long run....
Show me the money..SHOW ME THE MONEY
Re: Engin Mounts
Holden V8 to Hilux, made from 50 x 50 x 5 SHS with 4mm bracing plates added. Using original Hilux rubbers.

Re: Engin Mounts
made mine from 40mm internal pipe and 75 series shackle rubbers. There is crush tube in the middle with a 5/8 bolt from memory.
The plates to chassis is 6mm, and rhs to 6mm plate on the block.
oh 355 to 80 series l/cruiser.

Sorry for the hijack here, but in the last pic^^^^^, are those pulleys on the engine the vee pulleys from a 308??
Im asking because Im doing 304 to Lux and there is gilmer pulleys on mine at the moment, and have been told to use 308 pulleys and belts.

Re: Engin Mounts
sorry they are 304. all pulleys and brackets are custom made to suit what i am running. that was how i assembled it on the stand, but has changed heaps since installed. I am still working on the brackets so i can't supply finished photos.

Its a wheelbase thing
Re: Engin Mounts
These type of mount look good. But do they end up being a bit harsh and transferring a lot of engine vibration into the chassis?Rhett wrote:
