baleno 16v head on g13

Post by mrRocky »

just wondering what the best bottom end to use in a series 1 16v baleno mpfi conversion onto a g13b block would be
ideally i would like compression around the 10:1 mark.

I may be wrong but 8valve pistons don't normally like 16valve heads. I do know a 8valve head will go onto a 16valve block. You may be able to swop in some over size GTI pistons. Or you could just use a GTI block to start with.

As I said I may be very wrong its just the mechanic in me thinking about how the valves/pistons work.

yeah you need to run efi pistons to run an efi head (theyre different)...

if im not mistaken, don't the 1.3L engines run 10:1 compression standard?

hmmm my understanding was that it is possible to run an 8v head on a 16v bottom end but it makes it an interference engine
meaning if the timing belt snaps then the valves hit the pistons ?

No. Ports are different.

AFAIK there are carby 16V swifts (?) In any case, there are plenty of TBI 16V swifts, so a carb (ideally vitara) could be adapted, but why? surely the EFI is the answer.

G13BB is really what you're talking about.
