Thanks for clearing that up paul. In a previous post you said there weren't any spare parts being sold. Have you had any people modding this winch yet? If so what has been the outcome of these mods?

Have you considered mounting the motors one on top of the other with a gear or chain/belt drive conencting them? This would make it a much better length. It would start a good side market for you if you were to sell it as an upgrade along with remote free spool. These items could be clearly sold without warranty as they would most likely be used for comp obviously but could provide you with an extended market.

Yep we have 6hp twin motors running 24v on our T11 2speed 8k, and its is stupid fast. I have to make a new main shaft for it as i bent it while testing. In high speed, I had the lux with 37" stickys locked up AND daves GU ute with all 4 locked up getting dragged along the road at walking speed! while rigged and chained to a hydraulic pressure sensor and a huge tree!

Well I have given my 10000lbs high speed winch a workout and here are my thoughts.

I went with the Tigerz11 winch over a high mount or Warn low mount as I felt it represented better “value” and is a more advanced feature packed unit, ie in the braking mechanism, than anything Warn currently has to offer, especially at this price point. My previous winch was a warn magnum 9000lbs low mount that I fitted with a Warn high mount motor and Albright contactor pack, after both originals previously failed.

Appears built pretty well and the clutch engagement and free spool is very good. Had some trouble with the wireless remote, got it sorted with a new control box from the guys at Tigerz.

Standard Tigerz11 10000lbs high speed winch into a ARB 70 series deluxe winch bar, fitted straight in, only need to 10mm longer bolts for the fair-lead. Winch is running off two 750cca batteries in parallel, same as per my previous Warn.

Under no load it is pretty quick, loaded it up and wound on my cable which it did with ease and MUCH faster than my previous Warn. I like the battery monitor feature on the remote control, gives a indication on when to let the batteries rest and re-charge. Though I found the LED’s on the wired remote control very bright, to bright even in day time conditions. The wired remote has LED’s to indicate winch in and winch out, unfortunately “in” and “out” are written small below the LEDs and hard to see as they are part of the black moulding, not highlighted white or anything. I had a scary problem with the momentary winch in/out switch. The switch is not sealed, when it operates the switch slides past the housing, when released it springs to centre. Problem is mud and crap can get down into this gap and jam the switch into position! It took me a second or two to realise and push the switch to the centre off position.

I find the wireless remote to be a hopeless gimmick, it worked but there was a delay between releasing the switch and the winch actually stopping, this is not present when using the wired remote.

All up I did about 15 hard winches over the course of yesterday. The winch performed pretty well, no load speed was very good and it wasn’t to bad under load either. Much better than my previous Warn. On my first winch it did slow right down and I nearly thought I would need to use my snatch block. Car was diffed out (front and rear gouged about a 1’’ deep rut) in hard clay being dragged up a steep hill. Other than that it performed reasonably fast on the other winches with a bit of a slow down when faced with big rocks in front of the wheels. When I was able to drive a short distance it was good to have the winch catch up quickly and continue on. Overall very pleased with it compared to my previous warn unit.

Future mods including wiring up incab controls and looking into remote free spool. The free spool works very well but no one can be bothered scrambling up a hill to hook up the line then back down to engaged the winch, I powered out every time we used it.

i have a 12lb t11 fitted up with rope, loving the pulling power and i guess the speed is ok, but the wireless remote packed it in first time i needed it, and back to the wired witch works fine, asked a few other boys with winchs(alldiffrent brands) and they all seem to not work, changed the battery and still no go,( and yes iv made sure the switch is on and the box is switched on to)

They're a pretty simple setup. You should be able to hear the wireless receiver clicking (disconnect the control output wires first). If it isn't clicking and there's definately something faulty, give paul a call. Excellent after sales service.

well soz to say that my tigerz 11 has gone back to the shop again and its been sent off to be fixed, its started to lock up in reverse to a very loud and gear crunching stop, and in pull its very very noisey but never locked up, its goten to a point i cant trust it now, witch sucks cos the amount of times its used i realy need it to work, and it has worked well, but after a reco out at criuser for 4hrs with another winch car that had a warn witch, it was just so smooth and qwiet in op,

iv been told buy the place i bort it that the tigers are very loud but its a gears not lined up sound and im just wating for it to blow,

they herd it and say it sounds normal but im sure locking up in reverse ant normal :x

My 12 single packed it in as well.
Got hold of tigerz he told me how to pull it apart and what to look for then ring him back!
Is this normal??
I'm not mechanically minded at all and I am scared that all these parts will fall out!!
Should I just send it back??

i work for landrover, and i no how warrenty works, and the last thing i want is for a customer to pull somthing apart no mater how simple it is,

i did pull the gearbox when i first got it to move the handle, and noticed the 2 seals, are this things "water proof" or just splash proof, cos this things are ment to be on the front of a 4wd that will at some point go into water,

im worryed if there is water in there they will use that as a excuse and make me pay for it to be fixed, witch wont make me happy as i love the winch,

I wouldn't be admitting you work for Landrover on a public forum. lol

The seals will be improved a lot on this winch before the next batch arrives. This is why currenty there is a long weight before we get any more. If you are concerned try some silicon.

I would not be opening up the 10,000lb fast recovery winch or the 2 speed winches before talking to Paul at Tigerz11. I know the 2 speed winches can easily be put together incorrectly stuffing the winch.

The 12000lb single speed winch is simple like any other winch. Check the warranty though.

WOW the new Fast recovery winch did not do to well at all in the 4WD action tests.

Its interesting how they all performed. From the write up (if it truely wasn't bias) they did a pretty thorough test of them to. It didn't even make the top 3 out of 10. the only two good things they had to say about it is its great value for the price and it was the only one that came standard with the rope. In short all they said about it was it was over sized, Runs hot, and the motor will fail if you run it longer then 30 seconds under load. The other funny thing is they made sure in there write up they said WHEN you need to replace parts on it after the warranty is up you will need the S/N to be sure you get the correct part. The only other good thing going for it was the replacement motor when you need to pay for it is less then a 3rd the price of any of the others.

The Tigerz11 was also the highest rated 10000lbs the others were all 9500 but its hook braking point was in the lower half of the 10 tested.

The rope on the Tigerz did rate well.

Hmmmmm I was honestly thinking about getting one but now I think I am going to wait save up and get a highmount.

Has anyone else read the article in the new mag????

That being said: Provided the hook is rated on par with the power of the winch, all should be good. My warn winch always ran hot and struggled for 30 seconds of winching. No different to a tigerz11 at half the price.
I've got one sitting on the floor ready to replace my warn. Will see how it goes.

I'll have to get that mag and have a read. My 10000lbs apart from the earlier type contactor pack has given me no trouble with over 20 hard winches on it now.

Think about it though..... Tigerz11 is one of the magazines main supliers why would they give them a bad wrap???? This magazines website gives these away as prizes. If anything they would have made them out to be better then they are not as bad as they are????

Tigerz11 are you going to justify there findings? When they pulled it apart the main seal wasn't even correctly installed? I thought you spent a lot of time in China or where ever they are made to make sure things like that will never happen????

I haven't read the article and I don't speak for Tigerz11 however we sell their winches. I might suggest that they got a bad winch for the test because I don't remember ever having a warranty with one of these winches.

You cannot purchase this winch right now because improvements are being made to the seals before any more get made. At least a 4 months wait.

The motor is going to be under much more load then a regular winch because of the speed so if you do constant winching it is going to get hot.

The test is unfortunately for Tigerz11. It reminds me when they tested a Landrover. Something went wrong with the vehicle which was unusual so of course it come last.

There will be future tests.

Regardless of the test results, its good to see that Tigerz11 is constantly working on improving their product rather than some companies who don't listen to feedback and continue blundering along.

my question relates to the line speed and earlier claims on the 10,000pnd comp winch being the fastest lowmount
on the market and it clearly does not live up to that reputation infact on paper it claims to have it all over the warn
but 4wd actions test clearly shows the warn is worth every cent when it comes to a reliable fast recovery and it truely
is a superior lowmount winch and the cost is the only thing that hindered it overall rating as performance wise
it is above the rest .

Of course it will if they are testing a winch that is stuffed, has a dud motor. Again, I don't know what actually went down. You would have to contact 4WD Action.

If you are waiting for Paul to get on here, you might be waiting for a long time. He has not posted since July last year.

It sounds like you are just being difficult, calm down and phone him up or you will give yourself an ulcer or turn grey. Ask him what needs to be done and if it can't be sorted out in 20 minutes then send it back. It is only a big deal if you make it one. I have never had a situation where it wasn't fixed promptly unless something was out of stock. Paul has had customers who send stuff back to find out that he just didn't wire it up correctly or a loose connection. This is a waste of everones time. A little bit of tinkering may be the answer. If it isn't then you will learn something about your winch which may save you in the bush one day.

I had some problems with my control boxes and paul was good to deal with, I removed it as I had installed it, dropped past his factory and no fuss exchange.

got my winch back prity qwick ,, adn was told that mud had got into it and stuffed the brake?? i was shown picks of it and there was nothing in the motor or gearbox but mud in the drum?? soooo idk how that works but yer, got it back fitted it up and what you no,, still loud as,, so loosen all the bolts so the winch was under no load from the bull bar, and stll teh same noise,

just gona leave it till it brakes, shel be right,
