is it possible to bolt a swb gq chassis under a swb mk. if so how much work is involved????? and will a sd33t motor bolt up to a gq gear box
there is no such thing as a stupid idea... just a person who owns a rover!!!

i dont know about the chassis swap however the SD33Tengine will not bolt up to the TD/TB geaboxes you would have to get a bellhgousing converter made up for it.

i discussed this with an engineer years ago cause i wanted to do a coil conversion and thought it was the easy way.

problem one is the wheel base lengths are different. engine mounts are different.

now in sydney to do a full chassis swap i was told that i had to update the cab to meet the ADR's of the chassis, so the seatbelts may need to be changed, lighting, instrument cluster and a whole range of other bits,

it turned out to be cheaper to buy a petrol gq SWB, which we turned into a comp truck, was the plan all along,

bugger... might just try to put the fibre glass roof on the gq then... lots of work but should (hopefully) be possibly

Why would you want a crap fibreglass roof on a GQ anyway?
