Ok I am putting in the G16B MPFI from a 96 Vit into my 89 sierra. 3rd year I’ve been doing this now and just got enthusiasm to try and make the engine work again. I did a lot of things backwards (was a bit naive back then) including not check that the MAF sensor, O2 sensor or resistor condenser came with the engine when I bought it. So with replacement MAF and O2 sensors bought and installed (and a lot of $ spent)I just need a resistor condenser OR know what values the capacitor and resistors are to make my own. Here are the wiring diagrams I have been using but if anyone else has better ones please let me know.
Does anyone know what these values might be?
OR even better know where the resistor condenser can be found on a Vitara so I can go hunting though the car bone yards?
OR even way better have a spare one about?
seems like you might be overcomplicating things mate, they run with only 4 wires connected from the loom
This is probably the case but simplifying it and just connecting brown with white trace (NW) and brown wires (N) [after all a condenser is just to take out the radio noise isn’t it?] doesn’t work. I still get the fault code 41 (ignition fail safe signal) and no spark while cranking. Do you actually need the brown wire input (A8 pin on the connector) for the ECU to work??
Also had another look at the second picture I've posted and it’s for a single point injection so probably not useful for me but the first is right .
i cant help either sorry i put the tbi into mine and the resistor has only two wires through a yellow plug, but i know on my front clip the resistor was on the l/h inner guard that may help you
