Gots me a new car!

Post by Z()LTAN »

Well... ill have it soon.

I just ordered a brand spankas Toyota Landcruiser 2011 VDJ79R GXL, in graphite with most of the fruit :D

Japan's car manufacturing capacity is down to around 30% so it may take some time :(

Cant wait!!

Now for the tech,

What did you pay for your VDJ79R?, what are your fuel figures like?, anyone put a decent exhaust and chip on them and whats the power like then?

You're right about the Japanese manufacturing probs. A dealer told me today that a Toyota dealer who normally shifts 70 new cars a month now has a quota of only 15 cars per month, as that is all the factory can supply him. I guess good second hand equivalent vehicles will hold/increase in value until production increases. Did you you get a good trade in?

...and well done on your new car.

Yeah, the dealership here says that Toyota wont build them cars for future sale, only cars that are already sold. This is why i bit the bullet and got one on the way.

No trade in here, no point trying to trade in a clapped out vs commodore lol

payed 58 for my povo pack, with aircon, towbar, alum tray and winch bullbar. i get roughly 15l per hundred kays but drive it like i stole it. i have a 3inch exhaust and DP chip, drives great, just like a 3 tonne sports car.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

If you want a plug in Module Zoltan I'll sort you out without having to sell a Kidney for a DP Chip. Shoot me a PM if keen. the V8 D4-D with module installed gets around 35Kw and 117Nm torque increase with stock exhaust on the standard setting. You can wind it up no problems and then chuck an exhuast on and get more out of it comfortably, maintaining safe EGTs etc.

Congrats with the purchase. How long till you get it?

That sounds great Dank!

Wont be for about 3-4 months id say unfortunately but thats good in a way, more time to save up some cash.

Basically all im thinking of doing to it for the short term is making a 3.5 or 4" exhaust for it and a chip.

I havnt heard anything about these "modules", do you have a website with some info i can take a gander at?

Thanks alot.

Hey Zoltan,

The international website is http://www.diesel-power.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

have a look there but it's fairly basic in Info. Our modules do a similar job to the competition but our software is updated as each model is released, By the time you have your rig we will also potentially have a new module available as well that references boost pressure directly as well as fuelling which is unique in the industry to our brand. We already have these new modules availavle for the D4-D 3.0L Toyota Motor, 2.5CR Nissan motor and Isuzu 3.0L DMAX motor and a few Mercedes, Audi and VW motors. The Current V8 D4-D module works very well but we are looking to see if we can improve it in the next month or so.

http://www.kpd4x4.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; also has some content although I am still populating that site with info at the moment.

Landcruiser V8 Turbo Diesel D4-D Diesel Module Chip Dyno

Post by dank »

Hey Zoltan, We just dynoed a V8 2010 D4-D Cab Chassis. Here's a dyno sheet. Totally stock vehicle on 265/75R16 tyres. 81kw stock run to 107.2kw with the module. We'll be installing an exhaust soon and will dyno again...26kw improvement and big boost in torque, although on this sheet its measured in tractive effort (N) Something to look forward to!

They definitely need an exhaust and chip, they are a bit sluggish in standard form! Congrats on the purchase.

paid 66k with - wagon, lockers, light protectors, tow, gxl, graphite.

The gxl has a clock - its a function on the radio which is the same throughout the toyot range.

I ordered mine in early july and got it in Nov - good luck in 4 months, as mine was before tsunami.
Get 13.5 l / 100 on 33's.

I was excited about getting a chip before I got it, now I won't bother.
They have plenty of herbs for what I want / need.

Steinbauer is the one to get - as it does everything, rather than just fuel etc

If you want a sports 4x4 buy the prado, 7k less for the petrol gxl and go heaps harder than a 70, or buy a ls powered rig.

In reality raping a new car is an expensive exercise.
