Please explain???? What do you mean by that reply?

In simple terms how do we see pics or drawings of what you've mentioned in your last few posts!!!!!! Like you said you made some phone calls and in 15mins your supplier has confirmed what you were asking him to get in actual fact are available. Forged pitons, knife edge crank, custom girdles, all of these ideas. I guess my question is can anyone buy these mentioned items or would they have to be made etc.
Is that reworded enough?
Dont take it the wrong way mate. I wasnt having a dig. Read the first post slowly and you will see, it wasnt worded very well for others to read .

The answer is, the parts are not yet made (as I said, they will be built, not off the shelf). They will be custom forged and cnc parts, so no people wont be able to buy them yet. Once the cnc program has been written for the parts, I could get them remade to exact specs and sell them I guess. I wouldnt think to many people out there would bother with it though, or want to spend the amount it would cost anyway.

I would like to see the shop that builds these parts for the TD42 Uzdnabuzd.
Ti Valves seems a bit extreme for such low revs and valvetrain G's.

I can forward you all the info when i get back from overseas. I am not back for another month. All parts have already been made for a guy in south america so the R&D and the expensive costs have already been done.

I've been using a simple means of controlling EGTS with Auber EGT pyro for a number of years, simply with a solenoid to bleed the boost off the aneroid. It allows easy protection although a bit crude a lot cheaper that an e-boost. I fitted the device on my GU TD42 that was stock internals and making 195 rwkw with SAE J1349 on a DTS ProDyne. I have done quite a number since due to it being inexpensive and effective.
I believe I could have acheived 300HP at the wheels from that vehicle but it would not have been sustainable. Without a reasonable service life it's just a dyno mule.

Cheers

Good info. The only reason I used the eboost as the example was due to the fact that you can vary the amount of boost bled off from zero to 100%.

come on guys, surley somebody can answer my question.

can the auber gauges be used to monitor multiple things, and scroll through them, or am i able to fit an electric timer type thing to scroll the connected probe?

cheers

lol, i thought you could. the beauty of the net is that you can always get any answer - best bet is to email the auber guy, he is good with customer service and technical questions.

1 monitor can definitely monitor a number of different things - as to being able to monitor them at the same time i dont know. but i think yes as they are used in process work as well where they have to monitor a range of parameters and effect changes as needed. i.e have a egt which at 600 deg sends a signal for your methanol injection to kick in.

oh yeah sorry. you can get them to monitor things other then egt's or boost.

But you can only use one unit per sensor.

I do like the switching ability they have thou like you mentioned. i've got mine setup to have a rather loud and annoying beeper go off at 550 degree's

The PLX devices can read independant sensors. EGT/Boost etc..
Much like the Defi gauge controller unit reads alot of signals, records them and can replay alot of data through a laptop or back onto the gauges.

from what i can gatehr from that site, it only supports the OBD and OBD II. it mentions nothing of external sensors or computers.

So, who's going to post pics of a ZD30 and TD42 piston and head next to each other? Given nissans habits of standardisation and the bores matching, I'm wondering if other key dimensions may also match.

Could the ZD30 have started life as a 4 cylinder direct injection TD42?

Isn't the 2.7Turbo diesel exactly the same minus 2 cylinders?? (Terrano)

I''ve heard heaps about 12mm plunger pumps and what they can do as far as getting the TD42 oiler going , but recently there is a lot of talk about even bigger plunger and cam plate setups that allow huge fuel delivery. I guess the whole object is to get the right pump setup, turbo and intake setup, exhaust setup, without having to spend bulk dollars on engine work to achieve power gains.

It doesn't appear to be fuel limiting power, it's air. More fuel would just let these guys make thicker blacker smoke.
