jimny to monster.
well i have already a 2 inch lift but id love to know what tyres are best for my vehicle to really perform in sand and rocks. also i have questioned the 2 inch lift and wondered if i should add some spacers? please give some advice on how i can turn my jimny into a 4WD machine.

as for a really non useful post, i find 40" maxxis trepadores very good on rock, i havnt confirmed but i think they will work ok in sand as well..
and they will definatly turn your jimny into a monster

Spend megga $$$$$ or sell it for a leafy sierra and have $$$ left over.
Its a Jimny put a 2" lift on it and some A/T tyres and love it the way it is or get rid of it.

matey ive seen a jimny on carsales ages ago running 33''s. my mate is performing the same upgrade now. in short they used a 3'' lift with 1.5' custom coils spacers and many cutting disc on the angle grinder to cut away heaps of the guards. in short, it had no gearing and wasnt engineered, my mates jimny is getting engineered and he is going to run 32" x 10.5" simexes. also if u have bulk $$$ get coil overs. also will need engineers approval to be legal.its a trap! wrote:well i have already a 2 inch lift but id love to know what tyres are best for my vehicle to really perform in sand and rocks. also i have questioned the 2 inch lift and wondered if i should add some spacers? please give some advice on how i can turn my jimny into a 4WD machine.
u will need reduction gears and upgrade the cvs and axles etc.
also remember the higher your lift the more likely u will have a lay down or worse, so only go as high as u need, not as high as will look good, cutting the hell outta the guards is the key.

I am running 34 - 9.5 super swampers on my 2001 jimny it has about a 3inch lift, standard difs and alot of cutting. I am running a 6.5 sierra case. I also have upgraded Yuvi Cvs. At the moment I am tearing of free wheeling front hubs (3 so far). I think it is to do with the spacer on them, I am now moving to drive flanges. Other things i break inlcude the transfer mounts. Most of my plastic flares are either gone or close to it and some of the panels are very rough. Ran 32's, 4in suspension + 3in body lift, minimal cutting, Sierra box with Rockhopper Series 3... no dramas, still pretty stable, no breakages, good fun
DRS smells like a cat-food milkshake... and wet socks... and gorgonzola cheese... all whizzed up in a blender

Nope... mine was the red one called Stimpy (was featured in 4WD Action). The blue one belonged to RoboCop... bloody awesome machine, flexed like no tomorrow

That's exactly how Mud_Muncher's was set up. ( I think Mud Muncher's was Robocops) It kept having to lie down for little naps once it came down South. It now runs less suspension lift and no BL, and more tyre. Shocks are the same length from memory so it has the same flex.
