Post by Grylls »

Hey guys,

Have been looking at getting one of these winches for a while. Was watching ebay and a working one went for around $1000. I have a mate that also has one but it doesn't work. I'm wondering what would be a fair offer for it and how much I would be looking at to get it rebuilt.

Thanks for any help! ;)

You need to know basically why it doesnt work?

There are a few things to go wrong, mechanically and electrically that can be easy or hard (min or max $$)

About $800 is a fair price for a used high mount. cores suit reco up to $600. You can still see good ones fetching over $1000 on eBay
Like said you need to know whats wrong with it, or have a fair idea whats wrong.
Solenoids play up but normally allow it run in one direction. Brushes stick in the motor and could just need to be freed up, but sometimes cause motor burn out, as does over loading.

PM me if you need parts as Ive got lots of good stock bits left over from all the build ups I've done.
Also I can get new stuff out of the states at a good price. ;)
