we got 5th on track 1...4th on track 2...4th on track 3[did a door] then dnf'd on track 4 when we got stuck on both sidesteps with 4 wheels doing nuthin...probably a lucky thing cos there was some mad shit still to come
was a heap of fun and a great atmosphere among the competitors.

we didnt get back to the awards cos there was still some booty fabing and winching happening in the gorge...i think we got craig out about 9pm.

Sweet photos.

fark, shoulda got my bodylift certified and i coulda won it even though i'm still 2wd at the moment  :finger:

2wd
I busted my front Drive Shaft before the comp due to the angle being too stepp. THen tried to run in 2wd. 6 feet into first track, bound up the rear wheels in some rocks and broke the welds in my rear diff and went open. All over Red Rover. Shortest run ever, didnt even get to the first gate on the first course.

Had heaps of fun anyway and it was an awesome weekend anyway. Highlight for me involved Scotty and three German Backpackers at Presentation

big thanks to the QROCK people, very well run event!
congrats to all the competitors, huge thanks to RUFF for lending us his LONG  .
To all that missed it , :finger: the driving was awesome, for me the highlight was lockless strutting it stuff on angles that us mere mortals couldn't contemplate. the only dissapointment was not being able to see the battle of the 2 green giants  (RUFF and HUMPHEY). To the HOT ROD (dirte') well done you drove smooth all w'end and showed what the next generation in rigs from Haultech are capable of, and we better get our crap together if we are going to ever compete with you guys. Wes you are a champ, you did sam proud - the lockless surely is a monster. As for scotty  and his fan club, next time you need a spotter dont call me! no truthfully, scotty you drove really well (after some training) and to get through that hole in yours should be commended, as it is one of the hardest obstacles i have ever seen, not alone in a stocker.
TO all WELL DONE!

But what gives me the sh!ts is I ran out of memory on one card as Rocbug rolled (after image 128). I was perfectly positioned for the shot above the 180 point hole.

Thanks to everyone who competed and also to those who spectated, a lot of time and money went into the event from a very small committee, and it was good to see the event run so smoothly, and most of all to see everyone happy and enjoy themselves...it is great to see such close sportsmanship between competitors... I will be posting the full scores soon on the rockcrawlingqld.com website (just have to unpack first)

thanks again to everyone and we hopefully will look forward to a great event next year...stay tuned

There were around 100 prizes. If you were not there a rep was chosen for you to pick a prize. I had 2 winning tickets one about half way through and one at the very end. I got a Sleeping bag the first time and 3 cans of chain lube and a can of battery terminal cleaner the second time. If you were one of the first tickets pulled out there were some realy good prizes like recovery kits and heaps of great stuff.
