?4Runner Engine Conversion?
I have a 94 4Runner RV6 with the 3vze 6cyl in it. I just got it back from the mechanic and now find out that the rings are screwed and it needs a rebuild Instead of spending the money on rebuilding it id preffer to put the money towards a more powerful and reliable engine. I was thinking of a commy v6 or the hilux 2.7l. I have a very tight budget but will do most of it myself. It has the R150F gearbox in it and was wondering what bellhousing would i need to fit my gearbox to the 2.7? I also found a 3.8l 4 sale that comes with engine mounts and bellhousing to suit a 93 hilux with a 22r, will this bellhousing suit my gearbox aswell?. Can someone steer me in the right direction please!!! Cheers
Re: ?4Runner Engine Conversion?
the hilux bellhousing would be for a G52 gearbox and no good for you.
Re: ?4Runner Engine Conversion?
Ok cheers any ideas about a bellhousing that would suit my gearbox to fit a 3rz?? theres also a complete vn commy up the road from me for $550 would it be easier to use the motor and box out of that and just modify the crossmember and tailshafts? would that affect the tranfer case? so many questions lol
Re: ?4Runner Engine Conversion?
Plenty of info on the 3rz, Commy V6, 1uz, and numerous other V8 swaps into Hilux/4runner.
Do a search, or go onto the Surf Forum, they have a whole tech section on engine swaps.
Also, some good info through the members build ups section too.
But all are pretty common swaps done, so they should be heaps of info if you have a look around.
