3 link vs 5 link

Post by unmass »

Hi Outers,

I am in the process of building a truck for TTC2013 currently have standard radius arm set up.

I am wondering what the pros and cons are of a custom 3 link with panhard vs a 5 link.

I would ideally like to go triangulated 4 link but still running nissan donk for now

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards
Mitch

whats it matter if youve still got the nissan motor in there? Are you going to run full hydro?, if not itd be easier to go with 3link and a panhard over the tri 4 link. If your going full hydro id go the tri 4, easy to set up and adjust.

Full hydro would be nice but funds at the moment can't stretch for full hydro. I thought triangulated 4 link would be best but it would be pretty tight with the nissan engine.

I am probably going to go 3 link but just wanted to know if the 3 link had specific advantages over the 5 link set ups.

without a panhard you have to go full hydro steer, best to wait and go all out than do it half assed and have horror bumpsteer.
