Maxxis trepador's 35x12.5 radials, 8 or 10" rim

Post by brad 93hilux »

Hey guys just a quick question, I'm about to buy a set of treps in 35's (radials) maxxis recommends 10" rims but I have heard of people running 8" rims.. Can I run them on 8's or not?

Cheers

Hey mate,

They'll be fine on an 8" rim. I reckon they hold their bead better on 8" rims too.

The tyres crown more on a narrow rim and will wear a little quicker. You could reduce pressures a little to compensate but then risk overheating them and increased full consumption from the greater rolling resistance.
