zd30 broken crank/flywheel bolts ???

Post by gatto45 »

Hey everybody,
ive done a bit of a search but found no info.
I have a 05 GU with the zd30 auto. Driving along and it felt like it dropped out of gear for a second and then went back in and then nasty noises and then it stalled.
Tried to restart and it sounded like the starter motor was spinning but not engaging. Pulled starter out it seems fine, turned ring gear with a screwdriver, it spins freely and front of engine does not turn.
Suspect either broken flywheel bolts or even worse broken end of crank.
Does anyone know about or had this prblem before?
Any help would be great.
Cheers

Is the ring-gear still attached to the flywheel?

Sounds like you need to strip it further either way.
