Diff gears for 35's on 80 series

Hey guy I'm running 315's on my 1994 80 series now and want to upgrade the diff gears ratio do people recommend I go with and so far I was just gonna go with nitro from locktup4x4 and any ideas on rev comparisons would be appreciated

What do you want to achieve? Do want the equivalent to factory gearing? Or looking for lower gearing?

I'm running 4.3's from a 105, had to use a 100 series arb rear locker and 80 star gears to fit axles but works well,

Then it would be revving its tit off on the freeway. Most people opt for a little higher due to this. Is the car in question a daily driver or a trailer queen?

4.56s would get you back to factory (34.5/31.5)*4.11=4.50. You could run 4.88s but as suggested you would suffer on the highway.

Agreed. Locktup have 25% reduction gears from Marlin crawler for $1100.
Or diff gears are about $430 per set.
I found the standard gearing in my 80series ok onroad with 315s.

315s change gearing by about 10%, so reduction gears will still give a lower crawl ratio.

The lower you go with diff ratios, the weaker the diff gears are also.

Yea the car is only a wk end car mainly used for 4wd and towing my 14 ft van and with the van on its. Just stupidly sluggy it's going to be turbod in next few wks but was still wanting lower gearing any how to lower it closer to standed for off road use

A couple of times when towing, I have taken off on hills in lowrange, get moving, get past the hill, then shift into high while on the fly.

Wait till you turbo it before deciding. I run 35''s and 4.11 gears in my BJ74, standard high range but lower low range gears, its great, lowish RPM at 100km/h, still heaps of power and low range is good, just it tops out at about 60km/h in low.

I have 35s on my 80 with std gearing, its good on road i actually prefer it to the lower gearing personally, but off road its a real bitch, just cant go slow enough.

I was going to suggest transfer gears too. They must have come down I thought there where $1850 parts only last time I checked $1100 seems reasonable to me.
