Re: pitman/gear puller
I don't use a puller. A 4lb lump hammer and a small crow bar works fine.

x2 hammer some sort of lever and/or a dolly.
Re: pitman/gear puller
Yeah, I'm not a fan of smashing shit out of critical steering components, a puller and a small crack with a hammer to jar it free is the way to go. Just don't buy cheap shit, I broke a cheesy on my 80series.

Re: pitman/gear puller
I use a 3 jaw puller from supercrap and a big hammer, torque up & belt a few times, repeat till it comes off and always does ...

Re: pitman/gear puller
The $40 pitman arm puller from supercheap will do the trick. Do it up tight the hit the bolt with a hammer, re-tighten, hit etc.
I used my 8t hydraulic puller and it struggled til I heated the arm. A bearing seperator and press would work too.

Re: pitman/gear puller
I ONLY hit the pittmen arm near the spline to shock load it loose, never the bolt/nut.
