Gu pulling to left after hub rebuild.

Post by blackmav »

We did a swivel hub rebuild on my mates 2000 Gu wagon,
bearings ,seals, king pin bearings, everything. Now its pulling to the left, just enough to have to hold onto it all the time.
Theres no excessive heat in the hubs after driving and the wheels turn fine.
Brakes dont pull to one side.
Tyre pressures ok.
He has a steering dampener so he is going to make sure thats not notchy but its got me stuck? Its just a dampener not one with a spring one it so I dont think that could be doing it.

Cheers

I have had the LHS bearings come loose after servicing on 2 occasions now...and it pulled slightly left. Just nipped them up a poofteenth and they were right then...and still are.
My theory is the left ones will come loose because of rotation direction just slightly ....and hub tips that small amount n disc rubs on pads just a tad more.. Dunno why this happens really tho...and just my thorts.
Worth checkin out tho.

Cheers Keith

He tightened the wheel bearings up on fri, probably 1/4 turn. Still much the same.
I havnt put eyes on it yet but probably will this week.
He took it for an alignment and the guy said he ran out of adjustment..So untill I see it I dont know.

I dont think it would be hubs/brakes as its not generating any heat

Hi, do you still have the old swivel pin bearing cones? They might of been offset. Cheers
