Unusual Noise

Unusual Noise
My paj has started developing a noise similar to that of a stick or twig being caught in the spokes of a wheel. It doesnt make the noise when coasting, only when taking it easy at low revs in third or second, sometimes when in fourth.
Any ideas? Im going to check the oil this arvo as its blowing a bit during idle. surely it cant be from low oil levels but thats my last resort. i only just topped the oil up last weekend and havent been far since.

Check the Shroud that comes off the back of the gearbox and covers the front uni joint on the tailshaft. Mine came loose a while back and produced the same noise I think you guys may be talking about but only under braking and acceleration.
Grab it with your hands and try to move it up and down or side to side. Mine moved easily and was scraping the tailshaft at certain angles. Tap it back towards the gearbox and make sure it is not on an angle.
Hope this helps.

err ... that tab is the warning for when your brake pads are low. Instead of breaking it off, try replacing you pads. Prob the wiser option ...
As for the tick noise, I vote for the lash adjusters too, they're shocking things in the Mitsu engines ...

is it a metalic noise
my paj started making this awfull metalic clanging noise i thought i had done my diff in.
after a bit of stressing and 1/2 an hour under my rig i found my rear unijoint was siezed solid
unijoints make a hell of a noise when there siezed and trying to flex
it sounded like somthing jingling around in my tailshft had me stumped for awhile $40 later all fixed
