GQ twin shocks

Does anyone have photos of a twin shock setup in the front and/or rear of a GQ/GU?

I'm going to attempt this in the next few weeks and after some ideas so i don't have to re-invent the wheel.

I have twin shocks on my GQ front end in a Rover.

I have one set in the stoack GQ position running to air assist Rover shock mounts and the second set int he Rover position inside the coil spring.

Why the 2 shocks. The car has had 4 shocks per axle for almost 20 years and they seem to work well enough. They were origianlly fitted for the 1994 Aussie Safari.

Why??? the answer is very simple, it's budget. i can't afford afford the "correct" shock and by correct shock I'm assuming you mean something like a triple bypass fox shock that might stand a chance of keeping 2.2 tons of patrol under control when you're hitting rough stuff at speed. and no single shock from Tough Dog, EFS, OME or any of the other well known brands will keep my patrol under control, so that is why I'm doubling up, I don't drive like most people.

Hey brando, can you tell me a little bit about the bump setup too?

Pressure you run in them?

Are they a bit clunky in normal driving?

Do you allow for full compression of the bump?

What lift is the vehicle in the picture?


I have some 3in travel armada hydro bumps to go in the front of my GU and have a 2-3in lift, im worried to set them up for full compession i'll have only 1-2 in of up travel before contact.

no i mean one fox or king smoothie, something like a 2.5 inch. tuned properly will out perform and out last and also prob be cheaper unless your using second hand shocks.

I agree 100% that fox or kings would be better, but that's not the reason I'm doing it
