Tough Dog Toperi Challenge 23rd/24th Nov
Hi all, just locking in the last weekend in November for this year’s Toperi Challenge. Tony has fielded some calls already in regards to roll cage requirements for this year. No you don’t have to build an internal cage, an exo cage will be fine. We are in the throes of finalising the minimum materials and construction required and should be able to let everyone know in the coming weeks what they are.
At this stage the format from last year won’t change, maybe some fine tuning. We have booked fine weather except for the 20mm of rain Friday morning. Hope to see you all there.
Cheers
Glenn.

Email sent to all competitors regarding Roll Cage rules. They are exactly the same as Tuff Truck. If anyone hasn't received it let me know.

Re: Tough Dog Toperi Challenge 23rd/24th Nov
With the involvement of the dept. of sport and rec into motor sport events, they require a racing licence to be issued. This is a longwinded exercise that the Canobolas 4wd club neither has the time or resources to obtain. However there is a way round the red tape. We now can run under an approved racing format that requires the absents of time as a way to determine a winner. That format is how Tuff Truck was run this year and will be the format that we will use from now on.
As many of you know the Toperi Challenge is a ccda event and therefore we must run under ccda rules and regs, in particular the specs regarding roll over protection. Along with the racing format we are also adopting roll cage specs from Tuff Truck. For those that need to modify or fabricate please consult "manual of motorsport" found on the ccda web page. A link is posted below. I’ve also posted the most relevant information from the manual but please visit the link so that you have a full understanding of what is required to compete at Toperi this year. For us to hold this event, and most importantly to be covered by the ccda’s insurance we must follow the requirements to the letter.
cheers

So cant we use old street signs for our cages like Pricey has for his new cag sorry had to stir.
Serious question, by a quick read of above it won't be teams anymore as it says 1 car only on stage at a time?

Re: Tough Dog Toperi Challenge 23rd/24th Nov
We are still working on Roll Cage rules and specs, at this stage all competing vehicles must have a roll cage, some Nb pipe may be allowed if the design of the existing roll cage meets with the rules we are working on. If the insurance company accepts our supplementary rules a lot of competing cars may not need too many modifications.

I have quite a pile of entries here to sort through, hopefully on Sunday i will get them organized and post a list of entrants so far.
Yes we will be giving the first 10 teams the opportunity to pick their start positions.
We have started discussing track changes for this year, just to keep it interesting.
