Hello all
I think i have a problem with either my brake master or rear calipers. The system is useable at the moment but it seems the rear brakes are staying on. When parked they smoke/smell alittle.
My car is a Suzuki Sierra LWB.
Running an import 60'booster because of size restraints with steering column through firewall.
80' series master(ebaynew) Meant to be for the disc 80'.
Hilux front vented rotors and calipers up front. Cleaned out and regreased with original seals
Patrol GQ disc rear with Subaru front calipers off a L series wagon. Cleaned out and regreased with original seals, can't find a new seal kit?? Bigger type caliper.
Manual adjusted prop valve for rear
For 80' series, is the spring pressure release? for the rear disc in the booster or master?
Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you sure the master cylinder is to suit disc rear? The ones to suit drum rear have a residual pressure valve to prevent the shoes from returning too far, if this is not removed when converted to disc rear it will cause the calipers to stick on.

Also ensure the master cyl has a tiny gap to the pedal arm on release to ensure shuttle piston fully back.

I had the same problem when I did the conversion on a Hilux. In my case the problem was exactly what bazzle said - the rod on the transplant booster I used from an 80 series was slightly too long so that the pedal was not allowing the brakes to disengage. Also watch out for your rotors being warped by the heat, mine developed a horrible warp after the overheating. The problem is that when you clamp the handbrake on while they are so hot the rotor cools a different rates causing a warp (at least that is what I read). Many posts on the net say that a rotor can't warp but I have a video of mine with a runout guage showing massive warpage.
