G'day,
I have a '93 Vogue and recently picked up complete front and rear axle assemblies from a '97 Discovery.
I'm led to believe these will have the stronger 24 spline axles? Although some have suggested my '93 will already have the 24spline jobs?
I've noticed that the rear diff has a rubber coupling rather than a Uni joint.
Is this something I can just change to the Rangie' Uni joint or is it critical to the setup of the diff pinion depth/pre load?
I was thinking of giving both assemblies to a Rover specialist for a once over. Is there anything particular I should get them to look at?
Cheers.

Disco/Classic rangie Axle compatibilty

Re: Disco/Classic rangie Axle compatibilty
You can swap them/interchange many bits.
The flanges from the range rover can be fit with the correct spacer and no adjustment to the CWP is necessary.

Re: Disco/Classic rangie Axle compatibilty
My 93 has the same outer flanges etc as the 97 disco axles I have. I have not however pulled these 93 axle shafts to count the splines on the diff end. I have seen photos of the later style axle shafts with 10 spline inners. So there must have been a transition period.
