Front Drive shaft for LT230

Post by GRIMACE »

People have mentioned that the front drive shaft on the LT230 setup is shorter than the front driveshaft on the viscous hub setup.

How much shorter is this ? ? ?

Don't know but you can grab a front shaft off a 2 door rangie and they fit just fine.

AS a rough estimate, about 40mm.

Better off if you decide to do the Lt230 conversion is to get a second hand one and replace the uni's if they are stuffed.

I am just after the info as I am getting a double cardon fitted to a front shaft I have here and I wanted to make sure it would fit and how much to take off it.

I'd wait and measure it on your donor vehicle. I replaced my front shaft with one from a swap meet. It was too long so i just loped a bit off with the drop saw and rewelded it. 10 minutes work max.
