GQ Body Lift

Post by MYTTUF »

Guys,
Just about to do a 2 inch body lift on the shorty and would like to hear any do's and don't in regard to doing this. Have heard that some smaller diameter type blocks tend to flex too much and tear off mounts on body and chassis. Is this correct?
80 series, Locked both ends, Q78ed & a massive 57 k/w to boot!!!!

When we redid my bodymount rubbers the other day, it took us fuck all to do the lot - couple a hours if that. And that was spraying the bolts there and then. Rattle gun at DAMIGES place helps though :)

Use NEW high tensile bolts, and its worth your while to do bodymount rubbers too...

Rear bolts come out easy on the day after an application of "Heat"
Melts the Locktite used by factory. WD40 wont break seal.

I curesed alot when I did mine. Then due to the friction the bolts got hot enough that you couldn't hold them.

I just cut a neat 40x40 hole knocked the tabs that hold the nut in place and then just replaced with a new high tensile bolt made a s/s cover plate for the hole sealed it with sticky back rubber and screwed the s/s cover plate on sweet as ;)

As Bazzle said, we heat the rears up and they come out in 2 seconds. :D
