no the 2 points on the diff work against each other ( the top pulls and the bottom pushes, and coz the welded 2gether they stop it rapping) the shackle is there 2 allow back and forward movement 2 help reduce binding durin suspension cycling

Seems to work ok. Only hops a bit when things get a bit nasty on the gas :roll:

the best thing i have found is 2 get the top link sitting dead flat 2 the ground or slightly higher at the diff end, with as much as possible sereration betweent he diff mounts..

i notcied this wen i modded mine once b4, it used 2 sit dead flat and it worked real good but i had 2 lift the front end 35 mm and as soon a i lifted the front higher than the rear it started 2 hop wen climbin

here's a couple of a budget one I built when I did a springover on a HZJ75

the bottom bar and cross piece are from an old bundera banhard rod, solid steel, not tube. the top bar is a hilux tierod and the shackle end uses the hilux tierod end for flex and adjustability. it works pretty good, the bars have bent a little at the crossbrace but it still works fine. shackle has shock absorber eye bushes at the top end - the top eye of the shackle is a shocker eye. it does induce a little hop under hard throttle on steep climbs but nothing scary.

total cost was about six bucks for the steel for the bracket on the axle, a tierod and panhard rod I had lying around, about 2 hours, welding wire and gas.

Here is mine :cool:

The plating on the outside of the tube is a temporary fix. It was done to extend the trackbar when the wheelbase increased ;)

Eddy Welder, yours would have to be the best (by looking at) anti-wrap bar i have seen. What's it like performance-wise? Wheel hop? Any flex?

I notice your drive shaft isn't attached, had it wheeling since installing track bar?

depends what you have got to start with

i dont like the inverted shackle look, although it would solve the hop

Excuse my ingorance, but if you dont ask, you'll never know. What does a track bar do exactly? Is it to prevent or limit the twisting of the diff under acceleration/decceleration?

from my knoledge which isnt much axel wrap, is when the diff tries to roll forwaards or backwards dramatically changing the pinion angle, this can cause shocks to snap, drive shafts to twist, bind and maybe evan break unis if bad enough, its more commonly assiciated with sprng over rigs

that's pretty much it. saves breaking stuff like ozy says. allows you to run much softer springs (lesss leaves in the pack) for very compliant suspension.
