where to get QH sealed beams?-found them

Post by modman »

does anyone know where to get 7" round quartz halogen sealed beams.
ryans in melb used to sell these 5 years ago.
i need some good lights that can survive a good melbourne mud and water dunk that wont let the tadpoles in.
i'm sick of cleaning the water out of the ipf inserts :x :x :x

Is this going to require a periscope or a snorkel :D
Seriously though why don't you raid a zook and get the headlights off that which are sealed beams and run relays to help with the power and just fab some mounts for them.

i'm spending more time driving through mud puddles.
the ipf inserts keep getting muddy water inside :x even with the rubber boots on.
my dad used to have cheap $30 quartz halogen sealed beams that are literally waterproof
i can get sealed beams anywhere and have upgraded the wiring including relays and circuitbreakers(fuses suck on lights  )
i do my fair share of night driving as well so find the qh inserts very handy

What would happen if say you had your light, ran a hole up the top connected to say a air input so air constantly blowing in, and a pipe down the bottom acting as a breather. Would this force any moisture out of the lights? and would it take out the globes ?
