has any bodie used lite hydro fliud in there power steer ?just setting up hydro assist on my cruiser and was told i could use hydro fluid instead of trannie fluid ,any thoughts

hey craig i know most of the ASCC modified class competitors use light hydro oil in their powersteerin to stop it from boiling to quick but most of those lads are nissans i asked this before in a thred and got the same answer as you are gettin now... but i wood give it a go
... can only make your steering alittle heavier

ive been told that too ....but then guys that are runnin lighter hydro oil are still tellin me it gets a little heavy.... but it might be different between different makes of powersteering units too.....but really i dont think it wood fark you steerin up after i rebuild mine i will be runnin light hydro oil someone gotta try it
...also been told most of the OBC competitors run hydo oil as power steerin fluid too so it cant be a bad thing
well i hope not

havent had much to do with 4x4 hydro steering setups but i work in industrial hydraulic services & were constantly getting steering cylinders off all kinds of applications in, which r farked from power steer fluid / auto trannie oil. it will chew out seals HEAPS quicker & isnt ideal. i wouldnt use it !!
