MUD4B....WOOT WOOT

Post by mud4b »

ive finally got enough moola to do my mods to the spook.......i know its not as big or tough as some on here but its the next step up for me......

ordered the rh3 and 33"claws today....cleaned out one of the sheds and have the spook in there ready to sling the lux diffs under......

im in brissy today(wednesday)to find and pick up my turbo diesel...
i think ive changed my mind from the toyota 2ct to.............(duck and cover)....a 1l charade cbd......this little td has as much power as the sierra 1.3 and the torque of a 1.6 efi vitara..(it is being backed by a rh3)

i will be changing the turbo and upping the boost.......this engine will be easy to fit as everything is the same as a sierra and it will still get 800ks to a tank(42l)....

cant afford coilovers so ill be going the ranchos and coil springs.....

not sure if the budget will strech to chopping off the back yet.....

ill keep those who are interrested updated with pics and a writeup in the members rigs......

Good luck, look forward to updates....Oh and pics

Whilst the cbd might have the power of a 1.3, what is it's usable rev range? How heavy is it? How are you adapting???

I'm thinking this might be an interesting conversion too... :)

Rev Range?
Torque?
Horse Power?
Engine Weight?
Auto or Manual behind it?

best of luck with it.

what vehicle does this motor come from ?? had a quick poke about with google .. found that EKW had on for sale $1400 .. the called it a cbd-t ..

Anymore info you have would be great ...

Oh and daihatsu also make some HOOOGE ship and power generation diesal motors .. (motors along weigh 7 or more tonnes) not as hig as those 28,000 litre ones .. but still pretty large ...

sorry people cant get on the net much now (living in the bush-house getting built)...

ive got the claws, the t-case is done(besides the mounts)the disc e-brake is also done.....pics soon...

ive got the engine and box......PROBLEMS.......
for the qs above its out of a fwd charade....it does not weigh much more than a std sierra engine.it has a alloy head and is only 3 cyl...the major prob im having is the box.....its out of a daihatsu hijet is rwd and the starter mounts from the gearbox side...it does fit as i was told but when the box is sitting strait the engine is on a 50 degree angle...rotate it you say....no can do.it is shifted by cables and when rotated to be inline with the engine there is no room for the cables!!!!!!swap a different box you say......im into that now....the problem ive got is i need to find one with the starter mounted from the box side not the engine side as there is no room......

lux diffs will be next after i get the engine sorted(if i cant work it out they both have to go back before its too late)

just out of interest. i recieved a letter from d.o.t the other day saying the 2ct(2lt turbo diesel) has been approved.....pity i cant afford it now....

promise ill get some pics up here soon(damo can you put em up for me)

FUN........mmmmmmm

the 2ct will be easier and harder in different ways.....the box mounts to the engine for sure.......the engine mounts on the 2ct almost line up with the sierra one....other than that everything is on the opposite side to the sierra.....but it wont take that long to work out....
