Anyone have data on the compression and extension lengths of stock shocks on a Gen2? Is there a difference between the ECS and regular models lengths?
I'm highly interested in the Rancho9000's but I dont like the length data I'm seeing recommended for our application.
If anyone has any other options they know of...but I want the remote setup - in the cab feature and I think these are the only ones.

Thanks red. Ok I've looked over some of the older posts that have been popping up on this topic and one mystery still remains. It appears you're screwed no matter what with the front, no? If your completely stock and you get a longer shock you will bottom it out. If you're lifted (in my case, to the max including a balljoint flip and very small bumpstops) you will still bottom out on compression because while your longer shock will handle the the slight extension these mods give, compression (upward travel) is still the same.
Is my thinking correct on this? If I'm not Is there a definitive part # I should go with on the Rancho9000's for the front?

not all is lost for the front. i have a ball joint flip in the front and a spacer (12mm) and the pedders foam cell shocks in there atm have 10mm travel either way of full bump and full extension. i only know this from having them in the car and marking on the shaft then pulling them out and physically pulling the shaft in and out to its max and min lengths. just a matter of finding a shock.

I have what may be standard specs from a monroe listing which is Front 227 Comp to 342 Ext and Rear 301 Comp to 486 Ext I have only concentrated on the rear so far because the KYB shocks on my rear (came with the car?) only measure 455 extended and from what I have seen 491mm is about the max off the shelf rear shock for the pajero however the F series ford rear shock has the same mounting type top and bottom and a 498mm extended length only 7mm but that equates to maybe another 15-20 at the wheel but I haven't tested at what point keeping the uncompressed spring in place will become an issue...Anyone?
