does that mean bad things for the EFI/blower kit for the 1.3? or just that smoking 33s with the locker in isn't advisable??
No i think it has been cooked just a few to many times and NO the blower wasn't the cause.
Decided to do a transplant have got hold of a Baleno motor. Which has the same bottom end as the gti engine with a 16 valve multi point injected head. Bolts straight in too.
sorry Grimbo don't mean to hijack.

No unfortunately, just had to do a bit of repair on the Audi which sort of emptied the pockets, but it is still on the cards hopefully for next pay packet in two weeks now

Chill winston it'll probably just get another g13 as it makes things a lot easier if i get pulled over.
I decided to get a GTI but as I had no loom it would have been a frightmare.
I eventually fitted the short block with my 8V reconned head.
With a Decent carb, a freeflow etc. A cam and an adjustable cam sprocket it is dialled in nicely. Normal shift point is 6500 rpm and it revs to ( off the gauge ) I have just fitted an oil cooler and a remote filter ( Falcon size ) as well as the stock filter. This gives a larger sump of oil at a better temp. So all the screaming revs are catered for.
I love it.
