You can paint anything you like

The clips always break. Goto a computer store, and ask for the clips that go on computer racks. Or even those plastic captured nuts from Supercheap do the job, and use a screw to hold it on.

I bought a new grill 2 yrs ago, mines fubar again now.

Thats the ones. They fit into the squares on the body work real well, and the screws and plastic washers work well to hold the grill in.
The square things that nissan use are shit, plastic on plastic holding that on is cheap shit!

Good luck

I used cable ties, which held it petty well. Also put a bolt either side on the botttom. There is a hole already there that goes back to part of the metal bodywork.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

I just had my grille off and thought that the clips Nissan use were much better than the usual ones. The trick is that you have to use a screwdriver and twist them 45 degrees to take the grill off, but to put them back on you use a completely different method - you fit them to the grille first, then simply press-clip the grille into place. If you tried to put the thing back on the same way you took it off, you would definitely think they were junk.

Normally I'm not a fan of plastic clips but I have to say I thought these particular ones were good, and suitable for the job they have to do.

Still, I agree that if you've lost and/or broken some, it would be simpler and probably cheaper to replace them with something else.

I just use the square plastic ones in handy packets from Supercheap, (They just push into OE holes). Auto pro etc and use self tappers with a small washer tightened just hand tight to hold grill on.
Easy to remove and refit again.

Never had my grill off! They are viabrating apart, EG wearing from front to back allowing the grill to viabrate, and gradually get worse.

to paint the grill you first need to use a special plastic primer available from most car accessorie places.
then just paint as normal.
