G'Day All

Just got hold of my first Sierra, it needs new springs for road worthy and just want to know peoples thoughts. The cheapest set I have found have been enforcer springs at about $110 front and $125 rear. (50mm lift) The price of ARB and Ranchos are both atleast $70 per spring more, (only 40mm lift)is it worth the extra money for the expensive springs?

Any thoughts on these or other springs would be great

arb springs are the goods... nice and soft/flexy, worth the extra $$ i reckon


have a bit of a search thru the zook forum, there's a heap of info 'bout different configurations and spring types etc

two options:

1. get another crapped out set of springs for free (or very close to it) that are going to be road worthy and pass your roadworthy, then complain about the springs a bit more and replace them with a good set that you are going to keep forever.

2. get some good springs now and install them and pass the rwc.

Old Man Emu seem to be the springs of choice around here.

Note: if you are going to do something extreme with you suspension setup, take option 1.

The springs are like this: n not like this: U, I dont know if it means there totally un-roadworthy I think my mechanic might be a little pedantic, if i'm gonna replace them I figure i'll put some good stuff in rather than have to do it all again in 12 months

Mate o' mine recently put enforcer set up on for a 2"rise, haven't had time to test 'em yet.....

I got Kings and Koni's, they've been pretty good, although did soften the springs recently with a change of usage...

here's the solution for you. and even though you will owe me foreever, i won't expect you to give me any money for it.

Step1

Step2:
Contact greyzook (who is selling that car) and say that you will take the springs from him for a price (obviously they are second hand and therefore cheaper). Note: he is selling a chassis, springs and body for 800, so surely the springs will be quite cheap compared to brand new right?

Step3:
Go to visit greyzook (just north of melbourne) and pick up the springs.

Step4:
Salute me for i have just saved you a packed of money and greyzook will be happy too as he has gotten back some money for the lwb tub that he owns and can't get rid of.

Step5:
Live out the rest of your life in debt to me
