To me a good 4wd is a combination of off road and on road personality.
To me NO other 4wd can give me the freedom and choices of the TJ. If the sun is shinning I can take the roof down, if it's cold I can put a hard top on. If a few of my mates want to go on a HARDCORE 4wd w/e then I can mix it with the best of them and sometimes do it better. I can put some polish on the TJ and she comes up as good as any of the ricers around, and they don't have a convertable.
NO other 4WD manufactuer can boast they have only 4wd's in their line up, Jeep ONLY make 4wd's. No 2wd's like Toyo, Nissian or Ford. Some say that the newer Jeeps arn't "real" 4wd's but look at the amount of plastic and elec gizmos is on most of the newer 4wd's these days.
Really it comes down to respecting each other and having fun.

Jeep made 2WD CJ's for the mail service if I remember rightly.

Only for special order & they made those in right hand drive as well (for the US postie's) but they were not available to the general public, as the 2WD Landrover's are.

Just the way the numbers are rounded - two votes difference, but percentages were rounded to the same figure.

Jeep have made MANY 2wd's and some of the best Jeeps in my opinion were 2wd. The J10 was only 2wd CJ when relased, we have here in Aus some of the rare ones that are 4wd. I'm still trying to find and old overlander wagin to get my hands on, that would be my DREAM Jeep, but only 2wd
Sorry about the confusion.

I think he means by vehicles sold as in Toyota sells like 90% more vehicles every month than Jeep however they are only 1% ahead in the poll

Do Landrover make 2WD? Not currently over here in Oz anyway. They used too make some in pommy land 20 years back.
If Jeeps are so great why did I have tow a modified Wrangler running 35 A/T's on wet grass slope with my stocko Patrol Wagon on 32 M/T's?
I was also under the impression there were 2wd Cherokee's available in US.

Because the Jeep was running AT's and you were running MT's fairly obvious, hardly the fault of Jeep! Was he aired down were you! Many varibles outside the make of vehicle.

Ge you bite well
Both aired down, you had to be there, funny at the time, another 4 cars as well all stocko but had muddies on, there was a tight corner at the bottom so you couldn't get a runoff, some of the others just made it, he was last and we had started putting away the camera's and headed back to the cars, thought he'd piss it in with. He had about 6 goes, it was like ice, each time sliding back down, wheels still driving forwards, ending up at 45 degrees at the bottom. If I didn't have my front tyres on solid stuff I wouldn't have been able to tow him. Amazing the difference tyres can make. All Terrains aren't.

Gee I own a Nissan too Now you fully explain the situation it is even more obvious it wasn't the Jeeps fault

I realise that, but some people don't seem to take my sense of humour seriously It was halarious that all this money had been spent lifting this Jeep, importing parts from the USA, and spend big money on 35" A/T's, the owner saw the funny side, though we'll still keep playing the tape back to him at every opportunity though
Where are you?
