God of Magnificant Ideas!
The squealing is from a poorly adjusted belt.....
retighten the belt and try again .......
also is the belt a new one or the one from the motor, maybe replacement time for the belt......
a handy can of spray stuff called "GRIPPO" / " BELT GRIP" is availiable from 99% of auto shops...... helps with sliping belts really well, I use heaps of it as the Patrol is usually in wet conditions and the 'rubber/steel pully/ & water combination really does SFA for belt life and grip !!

I'd bet it is a loose belt too, had the same problem on my patrol. If it is a Saginaw P/S pump it will have plenty of grunt to turn the larger tyres. My Saginaw pump is off an old 202 powered Commodore and tyres my 35s with ease, as long as the belt is tight.

Ring Driveline Services at archerfield they will know all the specs on Both p/steer pumps on 3275 7650 for they rebuild them on site. They rebuilt my FJ40 manual steer box and even with 35's on 10inch rims and a wrong amount of lift it didn't wonder on the road.

Xtreme Bolt on Bandit....and your mum loves it!!!
i have tightened the belt but it appears when i am at stand still and try to turn its worse i had a look under the bonnet and it looks like the pump is stopping as i turn and the belt is tight
