having extra tread is fine but if you are losing clearance by having them then is it really worthwhile. No point having traction if you keep on bottoming out.
Sell/trade in both lots and get some decent bigger tyres
havnt even seen the newer tyres yet, they may be similar size. I getting them as a favour cause I need tyres with tread. to sell them on and take the profits woulnt be right when the person giving them could just as easily do that.

I believe he had the Firestone or silverstone SAT's which are like a 31, Grimbo would know for sure as they were his I believe also.
If money is the problem there are cheap imports in 31's meeting DOT regulations for around $100 ea. I haven't used them but upon inspection it's an all terrain pattern similar to the Pirelli scorpion and not a recap. For that type of money why would you waste your time on anything smaller?
