Parts unavailability again!

Parts unavailability again!
The fan clutch turned out the be unusable, so I am on the hunt again. Can anyone tell me, or does anyone know, whether the fan clutch from a 2.8 hilux is the same as that from the Rocky? (The stud pattern is what I am interested in.) Who knows, I might get lucky, but I do not have a Hilux close to hand and probably won't for about a fortnight, as I will be away from home.
Should I not be able to find one, the fan is spinning at about a 1/4 speed, owing to the viscous coupling having had the richard. Were I to weld it solid, is there any dramas? The only one that I can see so far is should I do a river crossing, the sudden shock may cause some issues. Considering that I have no rivers about to do crossings in with the drought, this is not really an issue as I see it. Is there any others that you guys know of?
Thanks,
Muddy.

The other major drama you will have with a soild fan clutch is the amout of fuel you will consume. This will also affect your power outputs as the engine is driving the fan all the time.
I know the fan in my Feroza is pretty noisy whe its running as well, this might get annoying. I have a spare clutch for the feroza here that isnt that old, (came with my new motor) if they fit i'll let you have it pretty cheap.
