Hayden, sort of hi-jacking your thread, sorry!

My rig has a glass bonnet and I am in the process of swapping in a turbo diesel - none of it is standard (or Nissan!!!). My reason for asking here is that I was sure this issue would have been addressed and the answers would also benefit others contemplating a glass bommet.

well to tell you the truth it hasnt realy been brought up before
but heat can be an issue i have 1 of my bonnets on my truck and its mate blk so with the sun and under bonnet heat it gets hot and it also gets a little flexi but its ok it wont hurt it

how close is your turbos to the bonnet now ?????? are you peeling the paint of now?????

hay ryan they should fit coz as you said they are the same and as far as i know they are anyways

well they are still a little way of as i am finishing the gard molds and then will be straight onto the rock doors

Distance from top of turbo housing to underside of bonnet is between 100mm and 115mm. There wasn't any heat shield fitted to the turbo!

Bonnet is gelcoat not paint on outside, black flowcoat inside and engine swap isn't finished yet, so no idea what it will be like.

i think if it was me i would be making up a heat sheild tho
maybe out of some stainless sheet just in case
better to do that before than scorch the glass

there is this stuff i have seen that is a thurmal barrier used in race cars alot it a sliver foil like stuff that sticks on i dont know what its called or where you will get it but its good stuff

maybe try a race shop like revolution race gear maybe ?
i will see what i can find as i would like to know myself

like 189 a sheet that is 40 inches by 36 inched you might not need that much let me know if you want it and i might go halfs with ya or
