Dumb newbie Rangie vent question

Post by N*A*M »

Hey dudes

Got a really basic question that I can't answer because the interior went up in flames.

Basically, the heater unit has plastic fittings with match with the flexible air hose. However, going up to the top of the dash, I have four round vents with a much bigger diameter. Am I missing a coupling to connect the air hose to the round vent grills?

Also, do you think a centre console is required for roadworthy? I have a t-bar auto that is basically bare. Centre consoles are $$$!

Nam, you will need the vent inner fitting that is riveted to the top grill, this has smaller diameter end which will match the outputs of the heater box.
As for the console i doubt it would be needed but it would be easy enough to knock one up with some ply and pine covered in carpet.

NAM don't want too hijack too much but as you had the dash apart anyway :D can you confirm if the return line from the aircon aircooler in the dash is feeding from the top. Looking to use mine as an aircooler, oil/water trap for on board air.

NAM, I think I have some of those vent parts you are missing. I can check on weekend and if you still need them I can drop in the mail if you pm an address.
