Moose , So how do they arrive at this capacity - for the 1600
are they boring them or stroking ? what size is the pistons - stroke ?

Look at the topic 'BIG BORE' :roll: 78mm pistons instead of 75mm. I think they are from the Ford TX3 Turbo ( high silica content ). So it's a little more than 1700cc but is supposed to give a nice increase in torque along with hi-flow air filter and exhaust. Everything else can stay stock. Also used on 1.3 GTi"s for the 1.5 conversion.

Off set grind the crank & larger pistons !!
not sure on the full specs ,
CARBUSTERS , down here in Vic , do the conversion !!
give them a bell for full details !!!!
