Bigger rubber on SWB GQ

Interested in fitting bigger tyres to my shorty currently running 31x10.5. I have a 3ish inch suspension lift with no body lift. How will 33x12.5s go, much rubbing with standard guards? Ive been told 33x10.5 would be the go but would like wider! How about 35s, no chance without cutting or body lifting?

to run 33s all u need to have is 2" suspension lift, and u probably have to remove standard flaring with it.

i think 33 x 10.5 would be fine with standard flares and also fit on a 7" rim rather than a 33x12.5 which needs a 8" rim.

35s most run 2-3" suspension lift and 2" body lift, but also there are people with 35.5s on 3" suspension lift with guard cutting.

most rubbing will occur on rear drivers side guard.

why do you want to go wider? Its not always better...

you will fit 33x12s as it is now

The problem with 33x10.5-12 is that it limits my tyre options. From what I can see the majority of 33 tyres are are 12.5 although Im told BFMuddies can be 33x10.5.

I have the 33 x 10.50 on the 7" rims with a 3" lift. Great combo for a daily driver place tourer medium wheeler. I like the 10.50s because they don't rub, fit under the car on the standard rims, are easy on components and were cheaper than the 12.50s. i also reckon they work better as the 12.50s have a very square footprint which tends to aquaplane in water and mud whereas the 10.50 is a rectangular footprint and cuts through.

Sounds good what tyres are you running? Are there many in this size? Im after an aggresive tyre, street legal would be good but not essential! Any ideas?

i know bfg all terrains and mud terrains come in 33x10.5
but as an aggressive tyre, swampers or simex's around the same size :armsup:
