I am doing a RUF at the moment and have not decided on shocks. Will a shock with about 581 open and 349 closed fit into the front stock location? and a shock with 590 open and 357 closed fit into the rear? First up I will not be moving the shock tower F or R.
I am running 2" springs rear all round with about 30-35 extended shackles. I have found that the bump stops now a good distance away and although not tried hard but a wheel a foot in the air does not touch the pad. . would I need to extend the bump stops? If so how much and where can I get them from. This is with no rear shocks attached.
springs drilling... when taking the overload leaf did you just replace the welded pin from the overload leaf with a HT bolt and nylock? I will be moving the center mount as well for the RUF.
cheers

All correct.
Looking at running maximum length shock I can with out moving shock mount for now.
31's at moment because I have a lead to get some cheapish but will go bigger when $$ permit.
The shock measurements are bigger ( >100mm) than the suggested shock lengths for a 2" lift.
cheers

Rear springs are in. Fronts probably theis weekend. Looking at welding and bolting plates onto the chassis for the spring mount and then drill the springs to move the diff as per the RRO kit. I did not get hold of wolverine last weekend. A big pain in the a$%. So doing it myself at the moment.
PM me the details of the mounts :-)

Yep trial and error, if it rubs and you cant cut then extend.
Yes that is for eye to eye, but I think you should just swap now do it right the first time

Well I don't know what you mean. Why do you need to redrill the spring? My understanding is that the hole should line up in the stock position. I haven't got my springs yet so I haven't had a look at it yet but I would imagin that I will use the bolt that comes with it or just hitensile nylock it. My car won't be ready until the 14th so you can see it at katies gorge run. I don't think I will have the time to make other parts before then

When you install the RUF the front axle moves forward with the new plates because of the length of the spring. This is the case with the RRO kit anyway, going to try it out this weekend.
I need to get shocks this week as the zook is running at the moment with no rear shocks as they were not long enough. :(
I have found that landcruiser shocks are loong enough with 613 extend and 363 compressed and hilux for the front with 577 extend and 340 comp. These may be wrong way round with the cruiser in the front.

Those shocks might be a little to hard but still worth a go. If the diff is moving forward then the bumpstop and shock mount need to be moved forward.
Sorry I can't be of any assistance this week but I got to much stuff going on eg: moving house, building juice box, working full time

Is this to extend the existing mounts or to fit the eye 2 eye shocks in front?
cheers
PS: any ideas on the bumpstops...
If your doing the work to do RUF you might as well to the extra fab work required for shock mounts.
As far as bumpstops go I un-picked mine off a doner chassis and moved them across to the new one (grinding the existing ones off in the process)
There is a full day of grinding just to unpick:
Spring hangers X 2
Bumpstops X 2
Shock Mounts X 2 (Throw these away)
