New Interco Treads
Has anyone checked out the new treads from Interco that are soon to be released into Oz (3 - 4 months)? I have been fortunate to find a little more inside info on these tyres and decided to post it here...
The Interco "Trxus Mud Terrain" and "Swamper LTB" are two new tyres that look like they would be awesome tyres for utes / smaller 4bs. These tyres look like they might shake up the <34" tyre market. Sidewalls are also constructed along normal interco standards and will be much more resistant to sidewall damage than MT/Rs and BFGs.
The Trxus mud looks like a great subsitute for the MT/R and BFG mudder and would probably be great onroad as well as every bit as good offroad as these tyres.
LTBs are among the chunkiest 34" tyre available on the market with a softer compound than the rest of the TSL range...
I have it under good authority that Steve at offroad.au will be trialling the Trxus mudder on his GU over the coming months and a comprehensive review will be added to his site... www.offroader.com.au (Sorry for spilling the beans Steve...)

Saw them at the Wandin show in Melb on the weekend, they are for sale in OZ now, Ring Hayden ( Alpine offroad) for price, couldnt believe how thick the side walls are. 8)

Hobbsy at Aust competition tyres is the importer too, and a nice guy, if your in Melbourne and are looking for them, or any Pro Comp 37"s which are almost in now I believe.

For what it is worth, I have seen the Trexus in action and I was not impressed at all...they are a bad version of the TSl radial and SSR...and their sizes are not too appealing.
The LTB seem to be the right thing. It seems that directional treads for mud work better then the non-directional ones.
However, I'm going MTR or Simex Extreme

Well the TREXUS is a MUD TERRAIN, and marketed as such, but with the heavy sidewall, it isnt designed to be marketed against a tyre range they already make. Thats why the sizes are more bolt on for standard cars also.

With much heavier sidewalls and equivalent / deaper tread depth (19/32" = 15mm) than a the average muddie.
They are streetable but should perform better than the likes of MT/Rs and BFGs offroad. It will be interesting to see how they go.
All the siping should make them perform well on the rocks.

Just wanted to inform you guys that the Trexus is not the great, and the sidewalls are actually weak, compared to the new BFG MT/KM and the MTRs...
Anyways, to each his own...I am going 37" MTR or 38" SX, whichever are available in Lebanon at a reasonable cost.
