If any one can help me i want to run mud's on the road. as well for

Wheeling on week ends

Whats a good long lasting. The tyer size will be 35'' or mabe 37''

x terrain :) not strictly a mud but great wear (70 - 80k if treated right) great grip wet or dry on road, better than most muds off road :)

A little noisier than a std mud IMO though :) Also a bit more $ up front but the longer wear makes em pretty good value in my mind :D

Ive heard the Gearyear Wranglers are supposed to do both quite well, but I dont know if they make sizes bigger than 33's

yes goodyear wrangler MTR's are quite good they make
31, 33, 35, 37 and 40's

plus other sizes

How do the X-terrains really go in mud?
Like Vic muddy ruts?

I assume they are good on road and rocks, sand etc.
But do they let you down in mud?

Just support for my argument bogged, I love my x terrains :D For a tyre that will see a fair bit of on and off road they are awesome ;)

Goodyear mtr are great . I am sure that in a test they rated 3rd or 4th out off 7 off the top offroad tyres including boggers.They also have a very tough side wall. They are my next choice for on and offroad.

pretty damn good.

they came third in 4wd monthly's overall test.

BFGs came first and cooper stt's came second.

go the MTR tho. they have a stronger sidewall than the BF. do coopers come out in 37s?

you can get some decent km's out of them too.

X terrains would have to get my vote. They drive pretty well on the road, not too loud, good in rock, ok in mud and they look good.

Gotta have the bling!!!!

Or buy some boggers for the weekend and some all terrains for during the week.

The BFG's are my choice, had my last set ( 33's) on a MQ shorty for years'n years. New compound is not as tough as those were though. They are a really good tyre FULLSTOP. Wranglers are not as aggresive for really sticky treks, and not as shaw footed for touring romps.
On the other hand, if you do not need an aggresive mudder the Cooper ST is a really good A/T that has the goods for most and is 80 thou warrantied. :twisted:

Having had BFG MT's (old style) in 33x12.5 and still have my MTR's in 33x12.5 on the car, and done the same tracks on both, I would say the MTR is the best overall tire out of them.

They both get noisey when worn, they both work well aired down, and grip well on road. I suffered more with BFG from Mud inside the bead, thus, flat tires at 7am when you wanna go to work :bad-words: :bad-words:

If you could still get the good OLD BFG, I might be swayed depending on price really, but I like the MTR"s now, they have done well...

X-terrains are directional to me kills them off instantly.. You really need 2 spares. one facing each direction. Or run one flat and turn it round if you get a flat.

So when I replace mine in few mths time, I'll go with MTR's.

Mates running 37 radial claws, was running 37 Wranglers before that, the radials are heaps quieter, and have a stronger sidewall.
Try not to let your mind wander...It is too
small and fragile to be out by itself.

BUT... dependin on the amount of room inside you wheel arch.. if it looks respectable.. you prolly could get away with it..

I mean.. i looked at my car from a distance.. it looks like a patrol with 33's and a normal lift..

I wouldnt go past Mickey Thompson Radial claws. Heaps of traction in mud, sand and rocks. nowhere near as loud as simexes on the rd. and they were fairl well. i run em and reckon there great 35inchs. Mate also runs em and got back from cape york, ten thousand kay ry trip from bottom of victoria. only wore 3 mil of em and we checked with verniers
