1.6 EFI Conversion

Post by 85zook »

I have decided to convert my zook to the 1.6 EFI motor. What EXACTLY is required for the conversion??

1. Do the engine mounts need to be modified?
2. Where can i get an adaptor plate to the sierra gearbox?
3. How much am I looking at to install, including wiring?
4. Is an engineers certificate required and how hard is it to get if so?
5. Is it road legal with the standard sierra driveline, brakes etc?

Yes but minor available in kit from RRO

I got mine from RRO in the USA Suzisportz also sell one.

Budget 3-5k + motor and you'll be Ok, this can vary widely depending on how much work you do yourself and how complete your motor is. Mine was the upper limit of that + a bit and I was fleeced. I recommend if not doing yourself find a workshop who has done them before. I believe Suzisport have a wiring loom for this conversion

Yes, have it done by the workshop as part of the job if going that way, If doing yourself, find an engineer and ask what he'll want

Yes
If it's already been thought of...
There has to be a better way...
