42series isn't a middie, i own a 42 series and it is as short any other 40 around
DRIVE IT HARD, TOW IT HOME
fj47 is a lwb troopy
no such thing as an FJ47! 40 series Landcruiser terminology is quite simple if you know how it works. The letters refer to the engine type
Eg.
FJ is a 6 cyl petrol motor
BJ is a 4cyl diesel motor
HJ is a 6 cyl disel motor
FJ40 = SWB, petrol engine - F (older) / 2F (newer) motor
BJ40 = SWB, diesel engine - B (older) motor
BJ42 = SWB, diesel engine - 3B (newer) motor
FJ45 = LWB, petrol engine - F (older) / 2F(newer) motor. Can be ute or troopy
HJ45 = LWB, diesel engine - H motor. Can be ute or troopy
HJ47 = LWB diesel engine - 2H motor. Can be either ute or troopy
The 43 series were not sold in Australia. There is one in Darwin but unfortunately i baught my BJ42 then saw it for sale a few months later! I would have liked to buy it if i had of had the chance. The longer wheelbase is a good thing.
thanks for the info guys....
I am in the USA and as you may know we only have 40's and 45's (rare). But I import Patrols from S.America and there is tons of FJ43's down there. So before I start considering importing 43's I wanted to make sure what they are! I also agree MWB is best....
