Ah, that makes sense... I din't think of that.

I had images of controlling the car remotely via laptop James Bond style...haha

Although the range of the Bluetooth would make that rather limiting :)

Hey lads...

I had the boys that are filming the commercial this week somewhere in Canberra come into my shop (fishing tackle) on tuesday to get waders so they can stand in a freezing cold mud hole while the patrol drives round it without getting too dirty so the computer geniuses can put mud on it later!!

1) it will have to be a Bullbar off a Cabover Kenworth to replace that hunka plastic bar
2) that bullbar doesnt fix those $15,000 tailights or that ugly ass end.

Nah I think it would look good with an ARB bar upfront and a Turpie engineering rear bar and tyre carrier out the back. I want one!

The front/rear guards are very toy though. Also I think we need to get the AUS spec sheet out cos Nissan AUS I dont think will offer some of that crap no matter what the model is eg Pintle Hook (nice but they want do it)

Notice that the spoiler is different between the first and last photo. Get rid of that and the bullbar looks like it would sit up nice and high.
I agree with Bazzle about its looks. Certainly more than an upgrade than a new model.
Why is it that Nissan have to copy Toyota with the flares? The 80 series had big wheel arch flares so Nissan introduce that with the GU, now the 100 series has the flares incorporated into the body and so this thing does too.
At least they havent copied their IFS philosophy - yet! :?

Dont know about side facing seats, I think this could just cause problems. But the 5spd Auto is supposed to be fantastic in the current GU's and I cant imagine it going backwards.

Like I sorta said these I think are middle east specs, where there are not many diesel road cars. Thay manily have big petrols.

We need to get a copy of the Aus spec sheet. Mind you I would like a RHD version with the specs of above as it sounds very sweet - Its about time nisasan put in a cooler box.

Man if we were paying the same as the US for fuel I wouldn't mind the 5.6ltr either.

But I think I'll stick with my MQ, as all the shots seem to be only on sorta flat ground, would hate to see what all that plastic would do over some bumps

Whats the next thing to go in??? a :microwave: so we wont have to put our pies in foil and on the motor to heat??
I like driving off road and not sleeping so I'll stay with a manual too.

Don't know y they add more plastic and less metal and charge a hell of alot more, leave me with the metal anyday over the fantastic plastic.

Cool in that case since it is roughly 4litres to a gallon and at the moment it is $1.03/litre of ULP (this isnt the good stuff - 92octane).
So that makes that $4.14/Gallon. So you are stull better off.

that is about the same as our super-91 octane-when you figure in the exchange rate.regular unleaded is only 85 octane.

i've also heard that this new nissan is only going to last till next year and their is going to be an all new revised model.

i.e. new motors (no more 4.2) and IFS will be brought in.

Also doesnt looke like ARB are going to bother with this new patrol as if its only going to be 1 year before a new model no point in putting the R&D into creating new products.

Also i dont like the shape looks like it has pajero arse, land cruiser side and a navara front so Grimace. :finger:
