tie rod in front of diff for RR

Post by derangedrover »

Anyone done this?
Can you use series knukles or perhaps the RH knuckle off a LHD RR?
Thinking this will:
1. let me use LP toy third in front
2. get tie rod higher than bottom of axle tubes

Any thoughts?

Cheers

When mickrangie and i were helping landyman put toy 3rds into his rangie we thought about this and other solutions. Best bet is to use an 80 series toy hp in front which is the same as a hilux, then track rod clearance is not an issue- panhard rod would cause issues if placed in front also.

Will the Toy HP allow more room to move the track rod up over the rover. After a good lift (from axle rotation) it doesn't need to come up all that much.

Slunnie, as you tilt the axle forward both center and track rod move together, so as long as you have clearance betwen the radius arms and track rod it should be ok.
